Chè đu đủ nấu nhựa đào (còn gọi là mủ đào) với những miếng đu đủ chín hường được thái nhỏ ra, nấu cùng với mủ đào được ngâm nở mềm, trở thành món tráng miệng có công dụng giải nóng một cách hiệu quả.
Đu đủ chọn trái chín hường khi nấu thành chè vẫn giữ được hình dáng tránh bị nhừ trông mất ngon. Đem đu đủ gọt vỏ, bỏ hạt rồi cắt miếng vuông nhỏ. Nhựa đào (mủ đào) ngâm nước cho nở mềm.
Cho nhựa đào đã ngâm nở vào nồi đổ nước ngập mặt, đun sôi. Sau đó cho đu đủ vào, đun tiếp lửa lớn cho đu đủ chín mềm. Nêm vào khoảng 50g đường (có thể nhiều hơn nếu bạn thích ăn ngọt), khuấy đều cho tan đường rồi tắt bếp.
